Lockheed C-121 Constellation
The Lockheed Constellation was developed prior to World War II as a civilian Airliner. An early
version saw limited use with TWA before the war broke out.  It was then pressed into military
service as the C-69 and later versions were designated C-121. After the war Constellations
were used by airlines for passenger service until the advent of the jet airliner made it obsolete.
It was in military use until the mid 1970's as transports and radar-equipped early warning
aircraft..
