The Sukhoi Su-7/17/20/22 family are dedicated ground attack arcraft. First flight of the Su-7 prototype was in April of
1957. Deliveries to the Soviet military began in 1958. Armament consisted of two 30mm cannon in the wing roots, plus
bombs, missiles and rocket pods under the wings. The Su-7(Fitter-A) design gave way to to the experimental Su-7IG
(Fitter-B) swing-wing design which lead to the swing-wing Su-17, Su-20, & Su-22 (Fitter-C through -K) designs which
are still in use.
