The An-22 first flew on February 27. 1965. It created it big stir when it first
appeared to the West at the Paris Air Show in June of that year. It was the
world's largest aircraft until the Boeing 747 and Lockheed C-5A came along in
1968. USSR/Russia was the only country to operate this aircraft. Wingspan - 211
ft. 4 in. (64.42 m), Length - 189 ft. 7 in. (57.8 m), Propeller diameter - 20 ft. 4 in.
(6.4 m), Max. takeoff weight - 550,000 lb (250,000 kg) Still in use.
